Frequently asked questions

What would you like to know?

Open any question below. If you don’t see what you’re wondering about, you’re welcome to ask during a consultation.

01What can I expect in the first session?

Before we meet, you’ll complete a few short questionnaires at your own pace. This helps me begin to understand what you’ve been experiencing.

Our first session is a gentle, no-pressure conversation where we get to know one another, explore what brings you to therapy, and begin building trust. We may notice how your experience is showing up emotionally and in your body, with curiosity and care.

We’ll also talk about what you’re hoping for and begin shaping goals together in a way that feels manageable. You can pause, reflect, and share as much or as little as feels right.

02Who do you work with?

Much of my individual work centers on women navigating chronic stress, anxiety, hormonal changes, and the emotional impact of an autoimmune diagnosis. I also work with neurodivergent individuals ages 9 to 65 and offer support to families and parents. People of varied identities and lived experiences are welcome.

03What concerns can we explore in therapy?

My areas of focus include chronic stress and anxiety, trauma and generational patterns, life transitions, parenting concerns, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, phobias, and the emotional impact of health or hormonal changes.

04What kind of therapy do you offer?

My work is mind–body based and collaborative. I draw from Somatic Experiencing®, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), polyvagal-informed work, and mindfulness to support emotional understanding and nervous-system awareness.

05What if I don’t know exactly what I need help with?

That’s completely okay. Many people begin therapy feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or without the right words. We can start with what feels most present and explore it together at your pace.

06How long will therapy take?

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people come for focused, short-term support, while others benefit from longer, ongoing work. We’ll check in regularly about your goals, the pace of therapy, and how the process is feeling for you.

07Is therapy confidential?

Your privacy is an important part of therapy. There are limited circumstances in which California law may require information to be disclosed, including:

  • When there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person
  • When child, elder, or dependent-adult abuse is suspected
  • When records are legally required by a court order

I’ll explain confidentiality and its limits clearly at the beginning of our work and welcome any questions you may have.

08Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

At this time, I offer online therapy only. You must be physically located in California at the time of each session.

09Do you accept insurance or offer reduced-rate sessions?

I currently work on a private-pay basis, which means sessions are paid out of pocket rather than billed directly to insurance.

Reduced-rate availability: A limited number of reduced-rate spaces may be available for people navigating financial transitions or other life circumstances. These are considered thoughtfully on a case-by-case basis.

Superbills: Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies, so please check directly with your provider about your benefits.

10Can therapy treat an autoimmune condition or hormonal changes?

Therapy does not diagnose or medically treat autoimmune conditions or hormonal changes. It can support the emotional impact of these experiences—including stress, uncertainty, grief, identity changes, relationships, and adjusting to a body or life that may feel unfamiliar. Medical questions and treatment remain within the care of your healthcare providers.

11Do you provide immediate or crisis support?

No. My practice is not an emergency or crisis-response service, and messages may not be seen immediately. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, contact emergency services or a local crisis resource where you are located.
